Book Detail

About A Novel Way of Writing.

Editorial Note

A Novel Way of Writing grew out of a practical problem: I had stories inside me but was not finishing books.

Over time, that became a working method built around outlines, chapter buckets, dictated ideas, rough instructions, revision, and forward motion. Instead of staring at an entire novel as one enormous task, the process breaks it into smaller pieces that can be completed one at a time.

The book is not about finding the one correct way to write. There isn’t one. It is about building a system that gives ideas somewhere to go and keeps a project moving when memory, distraction, perfectionism, or everyday life gets in the way.

One of the things I like most about this book is that it was created using the same method it teaches. The process did not simply describe itself. It carried its own manuscript to the finish line.

The goal is simple:

Turn the idea into a plan. Turn the plan into chapters. Keep moving until the manuscript becomes a book. Because a finished book on a shelf is worth more than a perfect one trapped on a laptop.
