Editorial Note
Sarah and Abby began as part of a larger collection of short stories written in 2009, but Sarah’s world quickly proved too large to stay contained in one book.
At the heart of the story is childhood belief. Sarah does not need proof that Abby is real, that the Outback has a voice, or that some things are possible simply because she believes they are.
That idea became one of the threads running through the entire series: “If you believe.”
The books were later separated and expanded so that the stories could grow alongside Sarah and the reader. Sarah and Abby became the first step, a warm introduction to Sarah’s world through six accessible chapters and story artwork throughout.
It is a story about friendship, imagination, wonder, and the possibility that the world may be larger than it first appears.
